Our work is not done. Though women are well represented in academia, they still represent only 32.5 percent full professors. In many cases they are still “stuck.” The Bonnie Wheeler Fellowship has a proven track record of helping women achieve their career goal of becoming a full professor. Your support can help us continue to improve the outcomes for women in medieval studies.
Please consider donating to The Bonnie Wheeler Fellowship Fund. Administered by the independent Players Philanthropy Fund, Inc., a 501 (C) (3) tax-deductible charity, the fund grows through gifts like yours which go directly to an endowed base that generate the annual award income. This Fund and the Fellowship are completely independent of Southern Methodist University, where Dr. Wheeler has taught since 1975 and has served as Director of the Medieval Studies Program since 1978.
From the initial Fellowship Committee $250,000, raised in 2009, when colleagues surprised Professor Wheeler with announcement of the Fellowship at the annual International Congress on Medieval Studies, the fund has grown to allow us to offer a more generous stipend each year.
You can honor Bonnie and support the next generation, by making a contribution to the endowment through The Dallas Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
